8, 2006 Presale tickets for RHCP went on sale Saturday morning at 10 A.M. Unfortunately that was when the cannon in Bakersfield went off and I needed to start playing faire. HOWEVER- when I went thru my beadchaser at gmail dawt com email, I found out that I was not left out! wewt! got mah tickets, grinned a bit, then thought to myself "hey wait, this is on a Sunday. Wonder if it conflicts with faire?" ... Headed over to Renaissance Web , Bill Watters' site, and looked up faires. Cursed mildly, for that was the same weekend as Golden Gate. And our guild is approved to go play at Golden Gate. Now see, I do believe my subconscious anticipated this quandary, for sometime Saturday I was playing the "choices" game in my head, and one of the questions was indeed "faire or peppers?". Peppers won. Although I think I'll try to do some sort of compromise situation in this case. Go to GG, wake up Sunday fairly early, clean up a bit and leave before faire opens. Foamy rants about cellphones and gives you a ringtone you can download to your phone. I think
a website revamp is in order. Hrm...
January 10,
2006 Here's the plan in a nutshell: Take ¼ can Copenhagen, mix with ¼ can mint snuff (non-nicotine). As you take a ¼ tsp of mixed snuff out, add ¼ tsp mint snuff. Gradually the ratio becomes 100% mint snuff. Taperingly. Gently. Tastily.
This stuff actually tastes good.
Right now I'm floating along to some nice trance music I've got on the iPod so that I can stay focused on whatever particular task I've chosen to do at that particular moment.
Flashes of terrain from everquest2 go floating thru my head and I wonder briefly when it was that I was there. Nektulous is a very dark forest. Finally figured out how to fight again. Yay me, except for the tiny little problem that I've almost managed to get sucked back in. Balancing on the side of a cliff, windmilling my arms to keep me on top.
I will give it a few months. Wait until the expansion releases and have all my stuff done by that point so that I can just play the new release and get my level 70 before anyone else because all the other provisioners have been making food to make cashflow and won't have built up a 2 month vitality bonus..
Except I don't use a bot. And I'm fucking proud of that. None of my toons, everything has always been done by me, no cheating. I guess you could argue that's not playing *smarter*, and I would probably agree. But my goal isn't to make inordinate amounts of plat. I want to achieve something, to prove that I can be faced with a challenge and git 'er done.
-OR-
I could let it go because in the overall scheme of things, playing EQ2 the way I do isn't worth any value to me. It's merely an escape. November 24,
2005 I don't care to mention everything that causes me to be thankful. I am thankful however for a large supply of herbs on hand which allowed me to make a nice yuletide incense-- burn it on charcoal. Frankincense ~ Cedar ~ Pinon resin ~ Allspice ~ Cloves ~ Cinnamon ~ Juniper Berries Also doing up an all purpose one that contains dragon's blood incense, lavender, sandalwood and myrrh resin. Dragon's blood was substituted for the frankincense mentioned in the original recipe, but as I'd used up all the frankincense in my supply box on the previous recipe, I had to find an appropriate substitution. no, I didn't calculate to see whether the frank and the dragon had the same element/gender/planetary correspondences, but it seemed to make sense as they have a lot of the same uses. Back to the mortar and pestle I go.
November 10, 2005 I should be making garb right now, but instead I'm sitting here checking out astro.com and listening to RHCP's "Love Rollercoaster" cover. That, and several other tunes I've put on my iTunes playlist of high nrg songs to listen to in the car. No, I'm not in the car right now, but I could be should I choose to break out the laptop, which is usable now that I've finally bought a new battery for it... I am seriously considering taking the laptop to work because IT/IS has implemented a sonofabitch of a firewall. I don't care to hack it, although I could; it's really funny coz I can see when I interact with them that they don't consider me to be someone who could... . I like working there.... anyway... back to my "profile" "sings along with Guns n Roses' **Patience**-- lyrics here: Shed
a tear 'cause I'm missing you Sit here on the stairs ...little patience,
mm yeah, ooh yeah, Followed by Rob Zombie's Never Gonna Stop.. "scream if you want it" ... or send me e-mail ... Gah. **shakes head** Why I do some things in the way I do them... **hears little voice saying "shhh... it's a secret born of your immagination"** **Dancing along to "Pour Some Sugar on Me" ** Those of you who know me, let me know whether you see this as an accurate description. Sun in Pisces, Moon in Aries This astrological combination indicates a brisk, self-reliant individual who seems to always be in motion. You scatter your concentration and reserve of force in an effort to assert your personality. The result is that you are restless, and much of the effort of your actions is lost by your unsettled haste. There is a paradoxical aspect to your nature. On the one hand you appear willful and assertive, yet you can easily be swayed by outside influences. Continually drawn to new causes, you embrace them with all-out enthusiasm, but you lack the commitment to follow them through. You are generous and kind-hearted, but because of your inner unease, you can be a difficult co-worker or associate. This tendency can extend itself to your love life. Your good intentions are often buried by misunderstandings caused by your multifaceted nature. Being open to a variety of possibilities, you lose sight of a clear goal. Your meditative, imitative nature, heightened by the workings of an ever-active fancy, is the cause of your personal undoing. The key to a more harmonious nature lies in directing your gentle qualities toward workable altruistic aims. ________________________________________________________ Ascendant in Leo, Sun in the Eighth House At the time of your birth the zodiacal sign of Leo was ascending in the horizon. Its ruler the Sun is located in the eighth house. People with Leo in the Ascendant seem to possess a flair for the life of nobility and regality. Your life will be in many ways influenced by decisions you make that have been motivated by your pride, desire for power, for authority, and your need to convince others of your courage. In life you will act with a rather frank, generous, and amiable disposition. The course of events in your life will unfold themselves swiftly, and a life full of chance and circumstances will be the outcome of your desire to rule, to organize, to hold the keys of authority. You should be aware that as a result of overly strong impulses there is the danger of failures and upsets in life. You will be generally regarded as an amiable, sincere and generous person who, however, has much pride and sensitivity. Egocentricity is one of the prices of being born with the Ascendant sign of Leo. Another aspect of this zodiacal sign is that your personality becomes excessively charged with passion and sexual desire. On the other hand, these zodiacal signs grant in life a large dose of vitality as well as a fine physical shape and a strong, healthy constitution. Willpower is a characteristic of your personality. You seek opportunities and when you find them you go to it, using both your mind and your emotions to strive for success with zeal and determination. You are very self-assured and you implement ideas with a self- assurance that lets nothing get in your way of success. It would be beneficial to you, however, if you were not so candid and frank and if you did not expect others to act and feel as you do. Leo will grant you very sincere and affectionate relationships in which you desire to bring happiness and an overall feeling of charitable spirit and warmth to your loved one. In your sexual relationships you appear as happy, strong, playful and even a little innocent. You will always act better as a leader than a subordinate. Your mind is geared to a study of things connected with the termination of life. You are aware that there is something which goes beyond and which can help you to grow psychologically. You should be careful with your health and other activities during the middle period of your life. The death of your father will probably be an important, traumatic, and decisive event in your life and will develop a more profound realization of your own nature. ________________________________________________________ Sun in the Eighth House The Sun was found in your eighth house at the time of birth. This inclines your individuality to be oriented, in one way or another, to the deeper sides of life. Your sexual feelings are long-lasting, intense, and vital. Your inner self seems attracted to unusual matters related to the termination of life-death and its mysteries. Traditional astrology indicates that near your middle age a crisis will rear its head in your life. If this period is successfully spanned you can expect a prolonged life with a gradual heightening vitality. Financially, there are definite chances for money inherited from either your partner or from another relative. ________________________________________________________ Moon in the Ninth House The Moon was found in the ninth house at the time of birth. Your higher mind has the potential to expertly reflect the teachings of elevated knowledge that you may receive throughout your life. You will have an ability to quickly adjust to varying conditions. You are endowed with a clever and resourceful imagination, and a mind which is receptive to ideals, higher thoughts, and perhaps even metaphysical matters. Throughout life you are going to solve many critical situations by your ingenious and highly inventive mind which has an abundance of new and humane plans and ideas. ____________________________________________________________ Venus in the Ninth House Venus was found in the ninth house at the time of birth. Your mind appears as very adaptable, gentle, peace-loving and tactful. This position indicates that the secret for your ability to reach a state of harmony and emotional balance may come through the use of your higher mental powers. You have been born with an exquisitely refined, artistic mind which has a very subtle appreciation of all that has to do with culture. Your disposition is kind, congenial, gentle and sympathetic and you have a natural ability to assist other individuals. This position gives you much social intercourse with intellectual persons and success derived therefrom. Merely minor disabilities will affect you in your intellectual endeavors. The worst that could happen would be an overly inquisitive, indecisive nature that never seems to be satisfied. However, you have within you the ability to avoid these psychological obstacles. ______________________________________________________________ Saturn in the Ninth House Saturn was found in the ninth house at the time of birth. This indicates that your concern over the impermanence of all things will urge you to restrict your personality traits and assume a position of caution and planning before pursuing any important matter. In a practical sense, your attitude to all higher intellectual functions is that of a studious, serious, and meditative person. You must, however, be attentive to the possible presence of several challenging elements in your intellectual make-up such as depression, fear, and severity. ____________________________________________________________ AstroText Portrait - Short

Music and Books July 2, 2005 Been reading some interesting new authors which warrant perusal, namely Bukowski and Heinlein. The former being very raw and gritty, the latter introducing a new way to look at society. Also found Trance music. Note: Osage Orange wood shavings yield a beautiful shade of yellow when applied with alum mordant on silk. Edit: share and grow closer /nods
Skin Essentials---- Margie Martino --- Monday, September 13, 2004 About this time of year, every year, I get bit by the bug to create. Create websites, create crafts, clean out the house, and run basically at a thousand miles per hour doing all sorts of things that essentially boil down to creating. This year, the first project of the season is skin products. Lip balms, creams and ointments are the items on the menu for today. The recipes are simple, and I'm placing them here simply because I don't feel like making another page right now :-). Lip balm: 1 part beeswax, 3 parts Jojoba oil. I used organic jojoba oil, and standard beeswax. I don't think you can get organic beeswax because you can't control where the critters fly. Put this in a mason jar, and place the mason jar in a pot of water. Heat until the mix melts, then pour into appropriate containers. I used a screw up lip balm stick thing, and then a couple of little plastic lipbalm pots. They have a faint scent of honey. I used jojoba oil because it is basically a liquid wax, and will not get that funked up smell that old oils get. (the word is rancid-- ew) Ointment: 1 part beeswax, 2 parts jojoba oil, 2 parts sweet almond oil. Do the mason jar trick, same as above. Pour into appropriate containers and add essential oils. Cap, place the capped bottle back into the water bath until it melts then set aside to cool. Now this one I'm still working on. I don't think it's gonna be as creamy as I want. I'm going for somewhere between the lip balm consistency and petroleum jelly. Solid in the container, but you can dig a good quantity out with your fingers or a spoon. The scents are in the ?? stage as well, since I a. ran out of sandalwood (which I like to incorporate in large quantities) and b. haven't got as great a stock of essential oils as I would like. Need to do some research into muscle rubs and what oils are good for that. Made one to open the sinus using eucalyptus, camphor, clove and rosemary. I'm wondering how that will smell. Ghost Hunting----- Margie Martino --- Monday, September 6, 2004 A friend from work and myself have a new hobby: Ghost hunting. We're collecting stories from people, and plan to go to homes, taking pictures in areas that are reported to have had paranormal activity in the past. I've taken on the role of the skeptic, being a person that who won't just jump on the first bit of something unexplained and label it ghost activity. So last Thursday, we went hunting where we work: a hospital that's been around for 50+ years. Certain areas used to be a psychiatric treatment facility as well. Plus, we work nites, and that's usually when activity is reported. We went around 330 A.M., which if I'd thought about it, I'd have thought it was too late, but it was when we both had our work done and could get away. I took around 75 pictures. Only two show any orbs (blobs of light which are believed to show up when spirits are around). As I'd go into a new section of the hospital, I'd annouce our intention and then snap away. We didn't tarry in any one area very long, which is why I think that we didn't get many photographic anomalies. I didn't have a tape recorder to record sounds, but I think I'm gonna get one and some fresh tapes and batteries very soon. Interesting to note: OB has never had any activity, or at least never had any known to the old-timers. The orb you see in the hallway is just outside OB's nursery. Saturday nite they had some intersting electrical activity such as phones ringing then being dead when they were picked up, and a baby warmer which wasn't even plugged in alarming.(no battery backup either) Granted, they could have had a teenager in labor that's a source of PK activity, but my buddy thinks I stirred something up ;D Thumbnails you can click on for a larger view:

Until I have some links to put here for your viewing pleasure, here's a way for you to find some nifty stuff, and if you can't find any nifty stuff on google, take the safe filter off, and type in any random word and check out the images you get. Also note that you can do google maps, and if you check in the upper right hand corner of the map, you can click on a button which will give you a satellite image of the area you wish to visit. Granted it can't tell you if your hotel is in the middle of slumsville, but it is a fun thing to do when bored.
